Abdul is a highly experienced and multi-skilled dental surgeon who qualified from the prestigious Guys Kings and St Thomas's school of medicine and dentistry in 2004 and has over 18 years of experience in private practice. Throughout his career he has been regularly involved in mentoring and supervising younger and less experienced dentists and continues to do so.
After completing vocational training Abdul went on to work at the highly esteemed Charles Clifford dental hospital in Sheffield as a senior officer in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Abdul gained invaluable experience in the management of patients with complex medical conditions, such as head and neck cancer, corrective jaw surgery, removal of impacted teeth and trauma.
Soon afterwards Abdul completed a postgraduate certificate in dental implantology at the university of Salford under the instruction of the world-renowned Professor Cemal Ucer. Since then, Abdul has placed well over a thousand implants throughout his career, he is highly proficient in the management of dental implants within the aesthetic zone, full mouth rehabilitation using the All on 4 or 6 treatment protocol, enabling "same day teeth". Abdul has extensive experience with digitally planned CT guided implant surgeries for highly precise implant positioning.
His special interests thus lie in all aspects of dental implantology, removal of impacted teeth, fixed and removable orthodontics (teeth alignment procedures).
Abdul also has a particular interest in the management of the patients with dental phobia and anxiety. By using a combination of relaxation techniques, distraction, relative analgesia, and intravenous sedation, he can treat even the most challenging patients, with his calm and relaxing approach he is able to change patient's perceptions and attitudes towards coming to the dentist.
Abdul is extremely proficient in orthodontic treatments (both fixed braces and clear aligner treatment such as Invisalign). He has a special interest in the use of temporary anchorage devices (also known as 'TADS') to help reduce treatment times and enhance clinical outcomes.
Abdul believes every patient deserves to have a healthy, functional, and happy set of teeth. Dental wellbeing is strongly linked with general wellbeing, as such he strives to achieve this for every one of his patients.
Outside of work Abdul likes to spend time with his wife and 4 lovely daughters. He enjoys travelling, reading poetry, exploring different cuisines, and playing football.
